Four Bullsscored in double figures and the Buffalodefense held the Red Storm to just 48 points,including only 19 in the first half, to keeptheir undefeated record intact.Senior Tiffany Bell led the Bulls with 13points and nine rebounds, and she andsenior Sonia Ortega combined for the Bulls'final 12 points of the first half to send theminto the lockerroom with a 24-19 halftimelead. Ortega finished the game with 10points, five assists and two rebounds, andsenior Mari McClure and sophomore KatieBlazewski added 12 points apiece, with allof McClure's coming in the final 20 minutesof play. Buffalo led by as many as 11 points,30-19 two minutes into the second half, butthe Red Storm battled to stay in the gameand cut UB's lead to four on three separateoccasions late in the half. Buffalodropped a 73-64 decision at Seton Hall,despite a 17-point performance fromsenior Tiffany Bell.Buffalo outplayed the Pirates in thefinal 20 minutes of the game, outscoringthem by a 39-27 margin, but ran out oftime in an attempt to overcome a 21-pointhalftime deficit. The Bulls trailed by asmany as 24 points in the first half as SetonHall shot a stinging 64% from the floor(21-for-33). A three-pointer by senior TaraPerrier sent Buffalo to the lockerroomtrailing by 21 points, 46-25. The Bullsbattled for the entire second half, led bysophomore Katie Blazewski and seniorMari McClure. Blazewski scored all 12of her points after halftime, and shescored eight of the Bulls' first 11 points ofthe second half, reducing Seton Hall'slead to 14 points, 50-36, with 15:13remaining on the clock. McClure scoredeight of her 10 points in the second half,but the Bulls were not able to get anycloser than eight points to the Pirates'lead. University at Buffalo 2000-01 Game SummariesGame 10December 28, 2000Boston College 59, Buffalo 41Attendance: 1,647Buffalo scored a season-low 17 points inthe first half and suffered its second straightloss of the season with a 59-41 defeat atBoston College, led by senior Tiffany Bellwith 12 points and eight rebounds.The Bulls never led during the game, butthey trailed by just six points at halftime, 23-17, after closing out the first half with a 6-0run. Boston College, however, used a 14-2run midway through the second half to takecontrol of the game and put it out of reach.Buffalo junior Jana Richtrova sparked theBulls off the bench in the second half witheight points, including two three-pointers, in10 minutes of play, but it proved to be toolittle too late. The Bulls committed 17turnovers which BC converted into 21 points,and UB shot just 28 percent (15-for-53) fromthe floor compared the Boston College's 45percent (23-for-51).The Eagles' Becky Gottstein returned tothe lineup after sitting out four games with abroken hand and led BC with a game-high 23points and 12 rebounds. Senior Tiffany Bell added 10 points tohelp the Bulls snap a two-game losing skid.After a lay-up by Navy freshman AdrienneRoseti brought the Mids within two, 9-7, with15:33 showing on the clock, the Bullsembarked on a 22-9 run to close the first halfwith a 15-point lead, 31-16. They then heldNavy scoreless for the first four minutes of thesecond half en route to their ninth win of theseason.
