Senior Tiffany Bell led allscorers with 24 points on a perfect 11-of-11shooting performance from the field in just22 minutes of play, and senior Sonia Ortegafinished with 10 assists and six steals to pavethe way for <strong>Buffalo</strong>'s 21-point victory.The Bulls scored twice as many points asSt. Bonaventure did in the first half, 43-26,and they led the Bonnies by as many as 34points in the second half, 61-27. SophomoreRachel Martin finished the game with acareer-high 13 points and a season-highseven rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench,and senior Mari McClure added 18 points,six rebounds and four assists. She and Bellboth scored 11 points in the first 10 minutesof the game, which was more than the entireSt. Bonaventure team scored. Four Bullsscored in double figures and the <strong>Buffalo</strong>defense held the Red Storm to just 48 points,including only 19 in the first half, to keeptheir undefe<strong>at</strong>ed record intact.Senior Tiffany Bell led the Bulls with 13points and nine rebounds, and she andsenior Sonia Ortega combined for the Bulls'final 12 points of the first half to send theminto the lockerroom with a 24-19 halftimelead. Ortega finished the game with 10points, five assists and two rebounds, andsenior Mari McClure and sophomore K<strong>at</strong>ieBlazewski added 12 points apiece, with allof McClure's coming in the final 20 minutesof play. <strong>Buffalo</strong> led by as many as 11 points,30-19 two minutes into the second half, butthe Red Storm b<strong>at</strong>tled to stay in the gameand cut <strong>UB</strong>'s lead to four on three separ<strong>at</strong>eoccasions l<strong>at</strong>e in the half. JOHN’S 19 29 - 48<strong>Game</strong> 9December 22, 2000Seton Hall 73, <strong>Buffalo</strong> 64Attendance: 391The Bulls suffered their first loss of the2000-01 season, ending a school-record8-0 undefe<strong>at</strong>ed start to the year. <strong>Buffalo</strong>dropped a 73-64 decision <strong>at</strong> Seton Hall,despite a 17-point performance fromsenior Tiffany Bell.<strong>Buffalo</strong> outplayed the Pir<strong>at</strong>es in thefinal 20 minutes of the game, outscoringthem by a 39-27 margin, but ran out oftime in an <strong>at</strong>tempt to overcome a 21-pointhalftime deficit. The Bulls trailed by asmany as 24 points in the first half as SetonHall shot a stinging 64% from the floor(21-for-33). A three-pointer by senior TaraPerrier sent <strong>Buffalo</strong> to the lockerroomtrailing by 21 points, 46-25. The Bullsb<strong>at</strong>tled for the entire second half, led bysophomore K<strong>at</strong>ie Blazewski and seniorMari McClure. Blazewski scored all 12of her points after halftime, and shescored eight of the Bulls' first 11 points ofthe second half, reducing Seton Hall'slead to 14 points, 50-36, with 15:13remaining on the clock.
