Senior MariMcClure (Rochester Hills, MI/Rochester Adams) finished with 14 pointson the night, becoming just the 12th <strong>UB</strong> women's basketball player ofall-time to surpass the 1,000-career point pl<strong>at</strong>eau. She now has 1,005career points.The game began as a shooting frenzy, with <strong>Buffalo</strong> hitting 51.7percent of its shots (15-of-29) and Northern Illinois connecting on 58.3percent of its shots (14-of-24) in the first half. There were six leadchanges in the half, but neither team could get ahead by more than fivepoints, and a three-pointer by junior Jana Richtrova (Benesov U Prahy,Czech Republic/Genesee Community College) with one minute on theclock gave <strong>Buffalo</strong> a slight 32-30 advantage <strong>at</strong> halftime. The Huskiescame out determined in the second half and they shut the Bulls downdefensively, allowing just four <strong>UB</strong> field goals in the final 20 minutes ofthe game. NIU led for the entire second half, although never by morethan nine points. The Huskies scored the first eight points of the half,and they held <strong>Buffalo</strong> without a field goal for the first five minutes and26 seconds.
