Shegraduated from high school in Floydada where she was raised. She married John E.Smith on Sept. 23, 1934, in Floydada. He died Oct. 12, 1982.They later lived in South Dakota where they had a cattle ranch. She had been aresident of Carthage for 13 years and was a member of the Order of the EasternStar and Rehobeth United Methodist Church in Carthage.Survivors include a son, John F. Smith of St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter-in-law, VadaSmith of Durant, Okla.; a sister-in-law, Polly Cardinal and her husband, Fred, ofLubbock; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.A son, R.W.
