Sept 30 (Tribune Area Special) -Mrs. Mary Ellen Houser, 88, resident of Kempton community, died of a stroke at 6o'clock Tuesday night at the home of her daughter in Crown Point.She was a daughter of Jacob and Louisa (Rayls) Gullion and was born August 18,1860, in Clinton county.Her first marriage was to John Houdasheldt, who died in 1904. Five children surviveas follows: Mrs. Goldie Knotts, Alexandria; Mrs. Charlotte Kesler, Crown Point; Mrs.Leona Wass, East Chicago; Joseph P. Houdasheldt, Highland, Ind. One son, Grant,died in 1918 during world war one.Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Stella Shackleford and Mrs. Susan Kirby, bothof Kokomo.Funeral services will be held 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Kempton Methodistchurch, with the Rev. David Gooser officiating. Burial will be in the Kemptoncemetery. The body will lie in state at the Ralph McMullian funeral home until 1o'clock Friday when it will be removed to the church.60
