MARY GULLION (daughter <strong>of</strong> Edmund P. <strong>Gullion</strong>) was born about 1766. She died on16 Aug 1846 in Frankfort, Franklin <strong>Co</strong>., <strong>KY</strong>. She married (1) JAMES REYBURN. Hewas born on 22 Apr 1762 in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland. He died on 07 Mar1832 in Stouts Grove, McLean <strong>Co</strong>., IL.4. JEREMIAH 4 GULLION (Edmund P. 3 , Henry 2 , <strong>Patrick</strong> 1 ) was born on 28 Nov 1758 in what is nowWestmoreland <strong>Co</strong>., PA. He died in Apr 1815 in Near mouth <strong>of</strong> Eagle Creek, Carroll <strong>Co</strong>., <strong>KY</strong> (then<strong>Gallatin</strong> <strong>Co</strong>., <strong>KY</strong>). He married Isabelle Patty (daughter <strong>of</strong> Ge<strong>org</strong>e Patty) in Jan 1779 inHannahstown, PA. She was born on 03 Mar 1760 in Ireland. She died on 01 Aug 1843 in Carroll<strong>Co</strong>., <strong>KY</strong>.Notes for Jeremiah <strong>Gullion</strong>:Jeremiah <strong>Gullion</strong> was born 11/28/1758 near Hannahstown, PA. This is where he also marriedIsabelle "Belle" Patty, in January <strong>of</strong> 1779, at her parent's home (Ge<strong>org</strong>e and Isabelle Patty orPattie) near Hannahstown, Pennsylvania by Mr. Frisby, Justice <strong>of</strong> the Peace. Isabelle was born inIreland on March 3,1760. Her parents having immigrated to America prior to the RevolutionaryWar.Jeremiah lived in Westmoreland <strong>Co</strong>., PA when he enlisted in the Revolutionary War. According toa <strong>Gullion</strong> researcher, Jeremiah served in the Revolutionary War <strong>of</strong>f and on from 1776 to 1783 as aprivate wtih the PA troops under Captains Joseph Erwin, Matthew Jack and Jeremiah Lochrey andunder <strong>Co</strong>lonel Carnahan. He was "hired out" to the <strong>Co</strong>ntinental Militia as an Indian spy and ranger.During the Battle <strong>of</strong> Long Island, he was wounded twice, once in the foot and once in the right leg.In 1780, he was sent to Lexington, <strong>KY</strong> as an Indian spy by <strong>Co</strong>lonel Todd and served underGeneral Clark in the Indian expeditions to Chilicothe and Pickaway in Ohio. He also fought in thebattles <strong>of</strong> Hannahstown and Blue Lick (Indian raids in Westmoreland <strong>Co</strong>., PA).Jeremiah and his family moved with his great grandparents (<strong>Patrick</strong> and Mary O'<strong>Gullion</strong>), his fatherand his siblings and their families to Fayette <strong>Co</strong>., <strong>KY</strong> in 1786. He was in the Kentucky Militia in1787 under Ensign Rich'd Masterson. In 1801 he was a Captain in the Kentucky Militia.Jeremiah and his brother John "Jack" are said to have been the first residents <strong>of</strong> Frankfort, <strong>KY</strong>.Jeremiah built the first house in 1788 where the Methodist Church now stands. He bought two lotson Washington St. and an outlying lot containing four acres from James Wilkinson in January, 1792"in consideration <strong>of</strong> the sum <strong>of</strong> five Shillings, Current money <strong>of</strong> Virginia.".In 1794, he settled on the Kentucky River at the mouth <strong>of</strong> Eagle Creek, in <strong>Gallatin</strong> <strong>Co</strong>unty, <strong>KY</strong>,present day Carroll <strong>Co</strong>unty. In April <strong>of</strong> 1815, at the age <strong>of</strong> 58, Jeremiah died at his home on theKentucky River.Belle applied for a widow's pension on 3/16/1837 in Henry <strong>Co</strong>., <strong>KY</strong>, which commenced in 1837 inthe amount <strong>of</strong> $20 annually for her husband's service. She died in Carroll <strong>Co</strong>unty on August 1,1843 at the age <strong>of</strong> 83.Notes for Isabelle Patty:Isabella immigrated to America with her father prior to the Revolutionary War. She applied for awidow's pension on March 16, 1837 in Henry <strong>Co</strong>unty, Kentucky based on her husband's service.She was awarded a pension <strong>of</strong> $20 annually from March 4, 1837.Jeremiah <strong>Gullion</strong> and Isabelle Patty had the following children:8. i. JOSEPH O. 5 GULLION (son <strong>of</strong> Jeremiah <strong>Gullion</strong> and Isabelle Patty) was born in 1780in Pennsylvania. He died on 03 Feb 1864 in Boone <strong>Co</strong>., IN. He married (1)MARGARET WYANT (daughter <strong>of</strong> Ge<strong>org</strong>e Wyant) on 12 Jan 1812 in <strong>Gallatin</strong> <strong>Co</strong>., <strong>KY</strong>.4
