<strong>Georgia</strong> <strong>State</strong> Cross-Country -Track & FieldJeremy WilliamsSenior - Distance5’6” - 125 lbs.Kingsland, <strong>Georgia</strong>Camden County H.S.Major: Education2005:06: Williams competed in five cross-country meetsin the fall for the Panthers. He finished 14 th at the <strong>Georgia</strong>Collegiate Championship (26:40). During the indoorseason, Williams ran a season-best time of 16:10 at theFlorida <strong>State</strong> Invitational. Outdoors, Williams competedin three different races. He ran the 10,000m at the CAATrack & Field Championship, finishing 22 nd with a timeof 34:45.13.2004-05: As a sophomore, Jeremy consistently placed inthe top-seven for the Panthers during the fall cross-countryseason. He ran a season-best 27:19 at the Greater LouisvilleClassic and placed 19th at the Atlantic Sun ChampionshipMeet. In the spring, Williams ran his best 5,000-meter raceat the Florida Opener in early March, clocking a personalbest time of 15:37.54. He started with a 27:05 atthe Western Carolina Invitational, but improved his time to 26:33(17th place) at the A-Sun Championship Meet. He ran a 27:30 for10th at the <strong>Georgia</strong> <strong>State</strong> Invitational. In track, Williams was 10thin the A-Sun Championship Meet in the 5,000 meters with a16:05.89 and 12th in the 1500 meters with a 4:09.38. His best 5,000meters was a 15:50.49 at the Yellow Jacket InvitationalPrep: Williams earned eight letters in cross-country and track withthe Camden County Wildcats. Jeremy was a two-time Region crosscountry champion and came in 27th at the <strong>State</strong> Meet. Jeremy setschool records in the 5k (15:48) and 3,200 meters (10:00) and hada personal best 4:30 in the 1,600 meters.Personal: Jeremy was born April 11, 1984, in Sanford, Maine, andbecame a New England Patriots football fan as a result. Running indoor track, Tim had aseason-best 4:44.23 in the mile run. Alsocompeting outdoors for the Panthers, Tim set apersonal-best time (1:59.15) in the 800 at theSeminole Invitational.2004-05: As a sophomore, Tim set a new personalrecord during the fall cross country season,covering the 8,000 meter course at the GreaterLouisville Classic in 28:18. Wood also ran well atthe GSU Invitational, finishing 31st in 29:30. Intrack, Tim competed in the mid-distance events.He ran a season-best 4:18.37 in the 1500 meters atthe 49er Classic. He broke under the two-minutebarrier in the 800 meters (1:59.89) for the first timein his career at <strong>Georgia</strong> <strong>State</strong>, at his last meet ofthe season, the <strong>Georgia</strong> Tech Invitational.-11-2003-04: The freshman ran in a pair of cross country meetsand four track meets for the Panthers. The Atlantic SunConference named Wood to the All-Academic team. Inthe fall, Wood’s best time was a 27:46 at the WesternCarolina Invitational. In the spring, Tim was 11th at theA-Sun Championship Meet in the 800 meters with a2:03.20 and had run 2:02.77 at the Yellow JacketInvitational. In the 1500 meters, he clocked a 4:15.27 atthe Emory Classic.Prep: Wood ran cross-country and track in <strong>Georgia</strong> atWinder-Barrow High northeast of Atlanta. His team wasregion runner-up his final two seasons and fifth in the statemeet (Class 4A) as a senior. He was a member of the 2001Region 8AAA championship track team his junior year.He was his team’s “Best Male Runner” his final year.Personal: Tim was born on June 10, 1984, in Gainesville,Ga., but grew up in Hoschton, Ga. He is one of fourchildren of Ken and Ouida Wood. Tim has two older sistersand a younger brother.
