She competed in the 200m, 400m,800m, the 1500m and was part of the 4x400m relay team.She produced a personal-best time of 56.70 in the 400 atthe Seminole Invitational for a fifth place finish. Denishaset a personal-best time in the 800 (2:13.30) at the YellowJacket Invitational. Denisha was a member of the 4x400mrelay team that ran a season-best 3:43.90 at the Penn Relays.Denisha earned an All-Conference nod as a member of the4x400m relay team.Prep: Denisha competed on the Mount Miguel H.S. trackteam for four years and cross-country team for one. Shewas a team captain and voted MVP from2001-2003. In 2002, Denisha set theschool record in the 400m dash at 57.04.She also was voted the District Athlete ofthe Year in 2002. Denisha participated inthe state championships in both the4x100m relay and the 4x400m relay.Personal: She was born on September 18,1985, to Arthur and Denise Bryant. She hasan older brother; Arthur Jr. Denisha is veryinterested in a career in Residential InteriorDesign.Brittany HollandSenior - Distance - 5’5”Statham, <strong>Georgia</strong>Winder-Barrow H.S.Major: Marketing2005-06: As a junior, Brittany broke her previous best timein the cross-country 5K with a time of 19:20 at the GreaterLouisville Classic. Holland also placed 20 th at the CAACross-Country Championships by running a 23:31 in the6K event. During the indoor track season, Brittany setanother personal-best time in the mile with a time of 5:10.39at the Virginia Tech Challenge. She continued her recordbreakingways in the outdoor season. Brittany ran apersonal-best 4:43.44 in the 1500 and finished fifth at theSeminole Invitational. She also scored points and ran apersonal-best in the 800m run, running a 2:16.31 at the CAATrack Championships for a fifth place finish. Brittany alsoexcelled in the classroom. She was named to both the Dean’sList and Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in the fall and springat <strong>State</strong>. The CAA honored Brittany for her grades with aCommissioner’s Academic Award.2004-05: Brittany recorded a new personal best in the crosscountry5K by running a 19:46 at the Greater LouisvilleClassic in the fall. She also recorded the second top-10 finishof her career at the Troy Invitational, placing fourth on theteam and seventh overall by covering the 2-mile course in12:12. In track, Holland competed in the mid-distanceevents. She cut an impressive 17 seconds off of her careerbest in the mile during indoor season, running a 5:23.06 atthe Clemson Indoor meet. Brittany also saved her best 1500Personal BestsXC-5K: 19:20Indoor Mile: 5:10.39Outdoor 800: 2:16.31Outdoor 1500: 4:43.44performance for when it counted most, setting a new PRof 4:45.24 at the Atlantic Sun Championship meet toplace eighth. Her best 800-meter race came at the <strong>Georgia</strong>Invitational where she placed second in a time of 2:20.89.2003-04: In cross-country, Holland’s first collegiate meetwas the opener at Western Carolina where she finished25th as the Panthers finished first. She was 14th in 13:02at the 3k Troy <strong>State</strong> Invitational. She ran 20:52 for 59thin her first A-Sun Championship Meet. In the outdoorseason, Holland ran her best in the 1500 meters at UNCC(43, 5:04.31), and at the UGA Meet (8, 5:01.81). Sheran her personal bests for 3000 meters at UNCC with atime of 11:11.22 and 19:19.88 for 5000 meters at theYellow Jacket InvitationalPrep: Brittany Holland had an extremely successful highschool career at Winder-Barrow, becoming an eight-timeregion champion for cross country and track, earningtop 10 state finishes, and earning the school’s mostvaluable athlete award.Personal: Holland was born Oct. 25, 1984 in Athens,Ga., and is the daughter of Randall and Elaine Holland.She was also recruited by Berry College, Tennessee Tech,and Western Carolina.-24-
