In additionto programming eventsand managing <strong>University</strong>Community Centreoperations, the USC lobbiesall levels <strong>of</strong> government toensure that your educationis affordable, accessible, and <strong>of</strong> the highestquality both socially and academically. Youcan get involved by becoming a representativeon the council, working on committees,volunteering at our media outlets, orcoordinating numerous USC projects likeTheatre <strong>Western</strong>, Cultural Caravan, CharityBall, and more! The USC publishes Canada’sonly daily student newspaper, The Gazette,and operates 94.9 CHRW, an award-winningradio station. The USC also provides a variety<strong>of</strong> services including a bus pass, student healthplan, food bank, and student groups likePride <strong>Western</strong>, the Women’s Issues Network,Enviro<strong>Western</strong>, and over 180 clubs.Commissioners are the foundation <strong>of</strong> your<strong>University</strong> Students’ Council. They overseemajor USC events such as awareness weeksand campus-wide campaigns. Applications forall Commissioner positions will be available inFebruary at the USC Office in the UCC Room340.
