Insulation joints should be sealed withaluminium duct tape (see page 32).The 5mm thick insulation sleeve is formedfrom a multi-layer bubble film insulation withaluminium foil bonded to the outer face. It iswaterproof and will act as an effective vapourbarrier if all joints are sealed. It containsno CFCs or other ozone-depleting chemicalsand meets Class 1 requirements tested toBS476 Part 7.The thermal conductivity of ThermaPipeis 0.042 W/mK and therefore meetsthe requirements of BRE IP 13/94 forPassive Stack Ventilation Systems and BREDigest 398 for Mechanical Ventilation withHeat Recovery.ThermaPipe is available with either 100mm,125mm or 150mm internal diameters and,with its favourable pressure loss coefficients,is therefore ideal for all whole-houseventilation systems, passive stack and airconditioning systems.The various pipes, bends, connectors,adapters and clips that comprise theThermaPipe and EasiPipe systems providethe scope to meet the majority of ventilationrequirements and allows the installer tointerchange between other Domus systems.30
