PP-III-68Non-Steady-State Kinetics of D-Glucose to D-Sorbitol on Ru-ContainingHeterogeneous CatalystMatveeva V.G. 1 , Sapunov V.N. 2 , Grigoriev M.E. 1 , Sulman E.M. 11 Tver State Technical University, Tver, Russia2 D. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia, Moscow, Russiamatveeva@science.tver.ruRu-containing heterogeneous catalyst for the hydrogenation of D-glucose to D-sorbitol wassynthesized with the help hyper-crosslinked polysteryne as a carrier of the active phase. Thecatalyst obtained had a developed specific surface of more than 1000 m²/g (BET analysis), itwas characterized by monodisperse distribution of the active phase particles, the meandiameter of which was 1.4 nm (TEM analysis). Ruthenium-containing nanoparticlescontained Ru(0) and Ru (IV) (XPS analysis) which allowed suggesting the existence of twotypes of active sites on the catalyst surface. The kinetic testing revealed that the catalyst ishighly active. It allows carrying out the process of hydrogenation of D-glucose to D-sorbitolselectively (not less than 98 %).The study of the kinetics showed the presence of twoconsecutive stages of the hydrogenation process, the rates of which differ by several orders.Fast stage of the process is explained by non-steady-state processes connected with thecatalyst pretreatment with hydrogen. Phisical-chemical, kinetic investigations and mathematicmodeling allowed suggesting the mechanism of D-glucose to D-sorbitol hydrogenation onRu-containing heterogeneous catalyst.222
