PP-III-79The Nature of Synergistic Effects in Catalysis by Au-NiO NanoparticlesNikolaev S.A., Pichugina D.A., Golubina E.V., Majouga A.G.Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow, 119991, Russiaserge2000@rambler.ruIn the present work some monometallic M (M = Au, NiO) and bimetallic Au-M particles withdifferent sizes (3-100 nm) supported on Al 2 O 3 , SiO 2 , ZrO 2 , TiO 2 and ZnO were synthesizedwith application of deposition-precipitation and impregnation techniques [1]. Structural andphysicochemical properties of synthesized nanocomposites were investigated via TEM, XPS,DRIFT and XAS. The catalytic properties of supported nanoparticles were studied in theprocesses of: the purification of ethylene feedstock for polymerization by selectivehydrogenation of acetylene in the presence of ethylene at 273-423K; the utilization ofbioglycerol by steam reforming of glycerol into the synthesis gas at 373-793K; the migrationof C=C bond in olefin compounds at 443K.A strong synergistic effect of the activity was revealed for Au-NiO catalysts: Their activity inhydrogenation, isomerization and glycerol conversion was higher than the sum of conversionson Au and Ni catalysts. According to obtained structural and physicochemical data synergisticeffect could be explained in terms of: 1) formation of new Au catalytic sites due to electrontransfer from electron-rich gold to electron-deficient nickel; 2) decreasing in supportedclusters aggregation; 3) formation of additional adsorption sites near catalytic centers. This work was supported by Russian Foundation for Basic Research grant № 11-03-00403and Council of President of Russia grants for the young scientists (MK 107.2011.3,МК-2917.2012.3, МК-1621.2012.3)References:[1] S.A.
