PROFILE OFDIRECTORSWhen others seethings as they are,we see opportunity.Tan Sri Dato’ Lee Shin Cheng was first appointed to the Board on 21 July1981. As Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, he activelyoversees the operations of the <strong>Group</strong>. He is an entrepreneur withconsiderable experience in the plantation and property developmentindustries. In recognition of Tan Sri’s immense contributions to theevolving needs and aspirations of the property industry in Malaysia, TanSri was bestowed the singular honour of FIABCI Malaysia Property Man ofthe Year 2001 Award. In February 2002, Tan Sri was conferred theHonorary Doctorate Degree in Agriculture by Universiti Putra Malaysia inrecognition of his contributions to the palm oil industry. In 2006, Tan Sriwas conferred the Fellowship of the Incorporated Society of Planters(“FISP”) by Malaysia’s ISP. In October 2008, Tan Sri was conferred HonoraryFellowship of the Malaysian Oil Scientists’ and Technologists’ Association(“MOSTA”) for his outstanding contributions to agriculture, in particularthe oleochemical and specialty oils and fats. Tan Sri is currently a CouncilMember of the East Coast Economic Region Development Council(“ECERDC”). Tan Sri is also active in providing his advice and guidance toa large number of industry groupings, associations and social organisations.He serves as, among others, the Honorary President of the AssociatedChinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (“ACCCIM”).Tan Sri is the Chairman of Remuneration Committee of the Company.Tan Sri is the father of Dato’ Lee Yeow Chor and Lee Yeow Seng, and thebrother of Lee Cheng Leang, all Executive Directors of the Company.Tan Sri is deemed in conflict of interest with the Company by virtue of hisinterest in certain privately-owned companies which are also involved inproperty development business. However, these privately-ownedcompanies are not in direct competition with the business of the Companydue to the different locality of the developments. Except for certainrecurrent related party transactions of a revenue or trading nature whichare necessary for day-to-day operations of the Company and its subsidiariesand for which Tan Sri is deemed to be interested as disclosed under OtherInformation section of the <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong>, there are no other businessarrangements with the Company in which he has personal interests.Tan Sri attended all the eight (8) Board Meetings held during the financialyear ended 30 June <strong>2012</strong>.Tan Sri Dato’ Lee Shin ChengExecutive Chairman, Malaysian, Age 73
