Datuk Hj Mohd Khalil b Dato’ Hj Mohd Noor was first appointed tothe Board on 18 February 2000. He holds a B.A. (Honours) inEconomics & Islamic Studies from the University of Malaya andDiploma in Commercial Policy from Geneva. He is a former publicservant and his last post in the public service was Auditor GeneralMalaysia (1994-2000). During his 36 years of distinguished servicein the public sector, among the many appointments he held werethose of Secretary of the Foreign Investment Committee, Under-Secretary Finance Division in the Ministry of Finance, DeputySecretary General of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, andSecretary General of the Ministry of Works.Datuk Hj Mohd Khalil is also the Chairman of the Audit and RiskManagement Committee and Nominating Committee and amember of the Remuneration Committee of the Company. He isalso the Chairman of TIME Engineering Berhad Group and aDirector of MNRB Holdings Berhad, Malaysian Re-insurance Berhadand MNRB Retakaful Berhad. Datuk Hj Mohd Khalil is a Trustee ofYayasan Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng.Datuk Hj Mohd Khalil attended all the eight (8) Board Meetingsheld during the financial year ended 30 June 2012.Datuk Hj Mohd Khalil bDato’ Hj Mohd NoorSenior Independent Non-Executive Director, Malaysian, Age 71Datuk Karownakaran @ Karunakaran a/l Ramasamy was firstappointed to the Board on 17 January 2011. Datuk R. Karunakaranobtained a Bachelor of Economics (Accounting) (Honours) degreefrom the University of Malaya in 1972. He joined the MalaysianIndustrial Development Authority (“MIDA”) in August 1972 andserved in various positions including Deputy Director, Director,Deputy Director-General and Director-General. He also served asthe Director of MIDA Singapore, Cologne (Germany) and London.Having served MIDA for about 36 years, Datuk R. Karunakaranretired as the Director-General of MIDA in June 2008, a position heheld for about four years. During his service with MIDA, he wasresponsible for the promotion and coordination of the developmentof the manufacturing and services sectors in Malaysia includingpromoting domestic and foreign investment in Malaysia.Datuk R. Karunakaran is also a member of the Audit and RiskManagement Committee of the Company. He is the Chairman ofIntegrated Logistics Berhad and a Director of Lion CorporationBerhad, KNM Group Berhad, Chemical Company of MalaysiaBerhad, Maybank Investment Bank Berhad and Etiqa InsuranceBerhad.Datuk R.
