Demo #3709 Smeal Fire Apparatus Co. 75’ Heavy Duty AerialTHUEMLING INSTRUMENT PANEL MASTER PUMP GAUGES, PSI, LED LITThe pump vacuum and pressure gauges shall be supplied by Thuemling. Each gauge shall be fullyfilled with pulse and vibration dampening Interlube to insure proper operations to minus 40 degreesand to reduce lens condensation. The gauge shall read -30-0-400 PSI and shall be a minimum of4-½" in diameter. The gauge shall be illuminated with red LED lighting.CLASS1 FLOWMINDER VALUE SYSTEM - AERIAL DISCHARGEThe aerial discharge shall be equipped with a Class1 Flowminder Value System to give the pumpoperator or engineer an indication of actual volume of water (in gallons per minute) beingdischarged through the aerial waterway and the actual line pressure. The Flowminder shall showtotal flow when a single "Total Flow" button is depressed and held.The Flowminder Value System shall consist of: A color-coded bezel with digital display and mechanical pressure gauge on the pump panel.The flow display shall be weatherproof with super-bright digits at least ½" high. The pressuredisplay shall be a 2-½" liquid filled, mechanical gauge with Sub Z freeze protection.A flow transmitter mounted in the discharge line piping between the pump and the dischargeoutlet. The transmitter is to consist of a weather resistant black composite housing with astainless steel durable paddle wheel. The only part inserted into the water flow path shall bethe paddle wheel.A set of connecting cables to connect the digital display to the flow transmitter and to theapparatus power.Machined mounting hardware to hold the transmitter in the correct position in the discharge lineshall be provided and placed in strict accordance with the Class1 mounting requirements asstated in the Operation and Instruction Manual.The flow meter shall be checked and calibrated prior to delivery of the apparatus.THUEMLING LIQUID FILLED, LED LIT, 2-1/2" PRESSURE GAUGESThere shall be one (1) Thuemling individual pressure gauge(s) installed on the pump panel. Eachgauge shall be fully filled with pulse and vibration dampening Interlube to insure proper operationsto minus 40 degrees and to reduce lens condensation.Each gauge shall read 0-400 PSI and shall be a minimum of 2-½" in diameter. A removablepolished, stainless steel trim ring will be provided with each gauge. The gauge(s) shall beilluminated with red LED lighting.PUMP HOUR METERThere shall be a pump hour meter provided and installed inside the pump compartment. The hourmeter shall be activated only when the water pump has been engaged.INDEPENDENT PUMP COMPARTMENTThe main body and the pump compartment shall be fabricated as individual units. Both the bodyand pump compartment shall be fabricated using precision holding fixtures to ensure properdimensions. All attachment points shall be heavily reinforced.Revised 6/2/09 Page 28 of 114

Thecomplete body shall be fabricated using break and bend techniques to form strong yet flexible Uni-Body structures.BODY SUBFRAMEThe main body sub frame shall be constructed from steel tubing. The sub frame shall be located atthe front and rear of the body and in front and rear of the wheel well opening.The compartment area behind the rear axle shall be supported by a drop frame fabricated of steeltube and angles. All drop frame structures shall be welded directly to the torque box to allow thebody to be a completely separate structure from the chassis.LEFT SIDE COMPARTMENTSCOMPARTMENT L1There shall be a full height compartment located ahead of the rear wheel on the left side of theapparatus body. This compartment shall be designated as L1 within these specifications and anyensuing paperwork or drawings after contract execution. It shall be equipped with a roll-up door.Door Opening - 61" Wide x 56" HighThe compartment shall have a usable depth of 24 inches in the lower portion and 14 inches in theupper portion.COMPARTMENT L2A compartment shall be located above the rear wheel on the left side of the apparatus body. Thiscompartment shall be designated as L2 within these specifications and any ensuing paperwork ordrawings after contract execution. It shall be equipped with a roll-up door.Door Opening - 25" Wide x 22" HighThe compartment shall have a usable depth 14 inches.COMPARTMENT L3A compartment shall be located above the rear wheel on the left side of the apparatus body. Thiscompartment shall be designated as L3 within these specifications and any ensuing paperwork ordrawings after contract execution. It shall be equipped with a roll-up door.Door Opening - 47" Wide x 18" HighThe compartment shall have a usable depth 14 inches.COMPARTMENT L4There shall be a full height compartment located behind the rear wheel on the left side of theapparatus body. This compartment shall be designated as L4 within these specifications and anyensuing paperwork or drawings after contract execution.
