Perhaps visiting Soroco town, hometo Moldova’s Tigani population, to see themedieval fortress and meet with local gypsyfamilies in their lavish mansions.Day 4 Chisinau to OdessaTransfer by private car to hotel in Odessaand check in for 2 nights. In this gorgeouscoastal city, stroll along Deribasivs’ka Streetwith its glorious buildings, monuments, shops,restaurants and bars and then descend steepPotemkin Steps. We also recommend visitingShevchenko Park and Vorontsov’s Palace forsuperb views of the sparkling Black Sea. (B)Day 6 Odessa to SimferopolDay 11 KievFree day in Kiev to explore at leisure or bookoptional excursions. Be bowled over by thecupolas of St Sophia’s Cathedral, the city’soldest church. Inside it is just breathtakingwith colourful mosaics and frescoes. Wanderthrough Maidan Nezalezhnosti, the scene ofthe Orange Revolution and allow plenty oftime for Pecherska Lavra, a unique monasterycomplex with a system of underground cavesbuilt by monks and home to a fascinatingmuseum. (B)Day 12 Kiev to UKFree morning before flight back to the UK. Learn about Moldovanhistory and culture at at the National History,Pushkin and Alexei Sciusev museums, catchthe changing of the guard in Memorial Parkand sample the delicious wines of the city’smany fine restaurants.
