(B,L)Day 4 Shanghai to NanningTransfer to the airport for the flight toNanning. Nanning is a brilliant example ofChina’s extraordinary economic boom - overthe last few years the city has benefited froman ambitious landscaping scheme and todayit is rich in parks and gardens. (B,)Day 5 NanningExplore one of the largest collections ofmedicinal herbs and plants at the GuangxiMedicinal Herb Garden, with over 2,400species to cure almost any ailment. To balanceyour ying and yang, a lunch combining the localproduce is included. In the afternoon, visiteither the scenically beautiful area of QingxiuShan or Bailong Gongyuan. (B,L)Day 6 Nanning to LiuzhouTravel by road to the city of Liuzhou for anovernight stay. Often overshadowed by itsmore famous neighbour, Guilin, Liuzhou alsohas its fair share of remarkable karst sceneryand tranquil parks. (B)Day 7 GuilinCharacterised by its distinctive, greenerycoveredkarst formations looming over themajestic Li River, Guilin is one of the highlightsof any trip to China. Transfer to the hotel fora three night stay. (B)Day 8 GuilinVisit Guilin’s most attractive park, the SevenStars Park, so called after the mountains’resemblance to the Ursa Minor constellation.Lunch is followed by a free afternoon towander around this bustling city to visit sightssuch as the scenic Solitary Beauty Peak andElephant Rock. (B,L)Day 9 Guilin to YangshouTake a leisurely cruise to the once sleepy townof Yangshuo – now an energetic and buzzingplace full of market stalls, restaurants andbars. Time is given to explore Yangshuo’scobbled streets and take tea in one of themany open-air cafés before driving back toGuilin. (B,L)Day 10 Guilin to LongshengTravelling from Guilin to Longshengdemonstrates firsthand how man hasovercome the most difficult terrain. Theancient rice terraces are an incredible sight atany time of the year and well worth the climb.This region is home to the Dong, Zhuang,Yao and Miao ethnic minorities, all with theirunique costumes and traditions. (B,L)Day 11 Longsheng to Hong KongReturn to Guilin and transfer to the airportfor a short flight to Hong Kong. Transfer toyour hotel for a two night stay.
