<strong>The</strong> Office for Logistics and Judicial Administration monitors the humanresources of judicial bodies and proposes initiatives and proposals forsystemic solutions in that field . It is in charge of the job classification systemfor judicial bodies and manages the central personnel records for judges,prosecutors and other court and prosecution employees . It manages theappointment of court officials, and the representatives of judicial bodies, itruns or collaborates within procedures to appoint court interpreters, courtappraisers, and expert witnesses, receivers, process servers and executors,and notaries . <strong>The</strong> Office for Logistics and Judicial Administration alsoorganises the national legal examinations, and professional examinations forjudicial body employees, and prepares regular statistical reports on the workof judicial bodies .<strong>The</strong> Office deals with supervisory complaints against the work of judicialbodies and supervises the application of court and prosecutorial rules and theCourt Fees Act . <strong>The</strong> Office performs expert and technical assignments for theMinistry and judicial bodies in the planning and running of professionaleducation and additional training of judicial body employees . <strong>The</strong> Office alsodeals with cases relating to legislation on the serving of prison sentences,collects and regulates information on criminal sentencing for natural and legalpersons and on correctional measures, and issues certificates from criminalrecords and records on correctional measures .Mr Marko StarmanMarko Starman was born in Koper, Slovenia in 1969 . He studied at theUniversity of Ljubljana's Faculty of Law and graduated in 1994 . In 1996 hecompleted a master's degree in administrative and constitutional law at theLaw School of the University of Chicago . During his undergraduate studies hewas awarded a grant by the British Government that gave him to opportunityto spend some months gaining experience at the legal firm Donne Milehamand Haddock (Solicitors) and in the chambers of Richard Stone Q .C . at theBritish High Court in London .He completed his professional training in 1997 at the Higher Court in Koperand the Starman-Velkaverh legal firm in Koper . In June 2000 he wasemployed as a government adviser at the Office of the Prime Minister andalso worked for the prime minister's office as secretary of the GovernmentCommission for the Prevention of Damage to Social and State Property andthe Protection of the Public Interest and in the field of foreign andconstitutional affairs . Until January 2001 he was also the deputy nationalcoordinator for the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe .He works as an external collaborator at the University of Ljubljana's School ofPublic Administration, lecturing courses on introduction to publicadministration and local government .
