Ruth Adams Dupree was surrounded by her family and friendsduring a luncheon and party at her home on N.C. 210 where she has lived for the past 65 years.Born in the Kennebec area, Mrs. Dupree married William Dupree at the age of 20 and had ason, William Dupree Jr., in 1928. Her grandchildren, William Dupree III and Ruth Petra,hosted the party at her home June 28.Mrs, Dupree spent the day socializing with friends and family who showed up to congratulateher, present gifts and enjoy the food, cake, homemade ice cream and company. Angier MayorWanda Gregory presented her with a certificate of congratulations on behalf of the town.Among the gifts Mrs. Dupree received was a hand-picked bouquet of fresh flowers fromfamily friend Wayne Coats, who joined in on the celebration.Mrs. Dupree and her husband farmed in the Angier area prior to her husband’s death in 1967.109
