Ruth Adams <strong>Dupree</strong> was surrounded by her family and friendsduring a luncheon and party at her home on N.C. 210 where she has lived for the past 65 years.Born in the Kennebec area, Mrs. <strong>Dupree</strong> married William <strong>Dupree</strong> at the age <strong>of</strong> 20 and had ason, William <strong>Dupree</strong> Jr., in 1928. Her grandchildren, William <strong>Dupree</strong> III and Ruth Petra,hosted the party at her home June 28.Mrs, <strong>Dupree</strong> spent the day socializing with friends and family who showed up to congratulateher, present gifts and enjoy the food, cake, homemade ice cream and company. Angier MayorWanda Gregory presented her with a certificate <strong>of</strong> congratulations on behalf <strong>of</strong> the town.Among the gifts Mrs. <strong>Dupree</strong> received was a hand-picked bouquet <strong>of</strong> fresh flowers fromfamily friend Wayne Coats, who joined in on the celebration.Mrs. <strong>Dupree</strong> and her husband farmed in the Angier area prior to her husband’s death in 1967.109
