A native of JohnstonCounty, she was the daughter of the late Quint Dupree and Laylon Gardner Dupree of HarnettCounty. She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Haywood Alton King, her son-inlaw,James Ruffin Smith and her grandson, Wayne King.She is survived by five children, ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. A son,Lavelle and his wife, Ruth, reside on Mt. Pleasant Road. Their two children, Deborah and Loriwith son-in-laws, Eddie Byrd and Kenny Stancil, also reside on Mt. Pleasant Road. Eddie andDeborah have one son, Ben. Lavelle has a grandson, Damien, who is married to Alison andlives on Zacks Mill Road, Angier. Her daughter, Helen R. Smith resides at 3095 Mt. PleasantRoad.
