Bernie owned and operated <strong>Dupree</strong>’s Super Service in Smithfield from 1955 – 1982 when heretired. A US Navy veteran he was the last living charter member <strong>of</strong> Pine Level AmericanLegion Post 405. He was a member <strong>of</strong> the Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church. A gravesideservice, with military honors, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Selma MemorialGardens with the Rev. Donald Coates <strong>of</strong>ficiating.Surviving are his sons, Joe Bernie <strong>Dupree</strong> and wife, Sue <strong>of</strong> Pine Level, Richard B. <strong>Dupree</strong> andwife Gloria <strong>of</strong> Angier, Mike <strong>Dupree</strong> and wife Deborah <strong>of</strong> Oxford, John <strong>Dupree</strong> and wifeChristy <strong>of</strong> Smithfield and David <strong>Dupree</strong> and wife Jane <strong>of</strong> Cornelius, sisters, Maude Creech <strong>of</strong>Pine Level and Juanita Sharpe <strong>of</strong> Colorado Springs, CO, ten grandchildren, Jay <strong>Dupree</strong>, Kim<strong>Dupree</strong> Britt, John <strong>Dupree</strong>, Jr., Justin <strong>Dupree</strong>, Taylor <strong>Dupree</strong>, Michael <strong>Dupree</strong>, II, Carson<strong>Dupree</strong>, Banks <strong>Dupree</strong>, Britton <strong>Dupree</strong> and Carmen <strong>Dupree</strong> and three great grandchildren,Blake Britt, Joseph Britt and Ella John <strong>Dupree</strong>.The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Friday at the Parrish Funeral Home inSelma.
