Steps for the testsVoltage presence on MVcablesCubicle equipped with VPISvoltage indicator boxesVPIS : Voltage Presence Indicating System,a box with 3 integrated lamps.Characteristics:The definite “voltage presence” indication isensured on the voltage range stipulated byIEC 61958.Instruction for useVPIS must not be used as a VDS (VoltageDetecting Systems). The indication of a VPIS alone does notsuffice to ensure that the system is deenergised:if the operation rules require this, thensuitable voltage detectors in compliancewith IEC 61243 must be used for this.A: voltage presence indicator light(1 for each phase)B: connection points enabling a phaseconcordance unit to be connected.Once the cables are energised, the voltageindicator lights should light up.MV cable testsTest conditionOpen earthing switch.Cables connected to injection tools.Voltage injections on MV cableheadsOn outgoing cables(without VT)Check voltage absence.Voltage indicator lights are not lit.Close the earthing switch.See chapter “Closing the earthing switch”.18 07897302EN indice : C0
