Care/maintenance• Clean the product regularly (see "Cleaning procedure"table). To do so, lower the <strong>external</strong> <strong>venetian</strong>blind.Cleaning procedureClean the surfaces <strong>with</strong> a suitable cleaningagent.Remove dirt or objects from the product.• Clean the guide rod (for top-mounted <strong>external</strong> <strong>venetian</strong>blind for new buildings <strong>and</strong> <strong>venetian</strong> blindwindow systems) <strong>and</strong> light well cover (for A5) <strong>with</strong>lubricant for plastics.• Check the operating elements, lifting tapes <strong>and</strong>guiding nipples for visible wear <strong>and</strong> damage.• Check the installation substructure for damage.• Check that the <strong>external</strong> <strong>venetian</strong> blind is functioningproperly. Watch the product as it travels the fullrange of movement <strong>and</strong> look out for any unusualbehaviour or noises.• Have any damage repaired by a qualified specialistas soon as possible.4.2 Maintenance instructionsThe product must be maintained regularly orat least once a year.Inspection <strong>and</strong> maintenance work is only tobe carried out by an appropriately qualifiedspecialist. We recommend you take out amaintenance agreement <strong>with</strong> a qualified specialist.The <strong>WAREMA</strong> warranty becomes invalid ifthe unit is not cleaned properly at least oncea year.DANGERRisk of injury through irregular maintenance!• Check the product regularly for signs ofwear <strong>and</strong> damage, e.g. on the <strong>motor</strong> line.• Do not use products in need of repair. Inthis case, move the products to the upperlimit position <strong>and</strong> take them out of service.DANGERElectric shock!When inspecting or maintaining electricalparts, the unit must be de-energised <strong>and</strong>locked out.• Check the product for visible wear, for damage to the<strong>motor</strong> line <strong>and</strong> to ensure it is securely attached (e.g.check that the screws have a firm hold).• Ensure that it is functioning properly <strong>and</strong> check theswitch-off points of the blind.• Check the lifting tapes, guiding nipples <strong>and</strong> cables forwear or damage.• Check that the guide elements are firmly seated <strong>and</strong>the cable guidance is taut.• The battery needs to be changed in systems <strong>with</strong> aradio remote control.• Inform the operator of operating risks (e.g. ice formation).[B866096_6] - EN / 01.08.12 Page 12 of 20 Subject to change <strong>with</strong>out notice
