ANNUAL REPORT & GROUP FINANCIAL STATEMENTS 2007Adrian Moynes(Managing Director Radio)Adrian was appointed Director (and subsequently in2003 Managing Director) of Radio with effect fromSeptember 2002. He also oversees the operation ofthe Performing Groups IBD.A graduate in English from Oxford University, he joinedRTÉ in 1979, after a five-year teaching commitment atfurther and higher level. Within RTÉ, his posts includedProducer, Editor of Young People’s Programmes andHead of Scheduling in Television. From 1997, hewas a member of the Director-General’s Office, withreporting responsibility for RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta,the RTÉ Performing Groups, Freedom of Informationand as the management representative on theIndustrial Relations Tribunal.Edward Mulhall(Managing Director Newsand Current Affairs)Ed was appointed Director of News (and subsequentlyin 2003 Managing Director) with effect from 1997.A graduate in Economics and Politics from TrinityCollege Dublin, he joined RTÉ in 1979 as a RadioProducer in Current Affairs. Subsequently, he wasthe Assistant Head of Features and Current Affairsin Radio and the Programme Editor of TelevisionNews, editing the Six One and Nine O’Clock Newsprogrammes, and was appointed Managing Editor inthe Newsroom Division in 1994.Bride Rosney(Director of Communications)Bride was appointed Director of Communicationswith effect from December 2001. She also overseesGroup HR.A graduate in Science from UCD and ComputerPractice from Trinity College Dublin, Bride joined RTÉhaving previously worked as a teacher, school principaland latterly as a communications consultant in thespheres of new technologies and the arts. After over20 years experience in education and educationalresearch at both second and third levels, she wasSpecial Adviser to Mary Robinson, in her capacity asPresident of Ireland and UNHCHR, for an eight-yearperiod.33
