It was the dayTed and Joy produced Lincoln Stanley tobreak the long-standing Capalaba track recordwith a 19.51 victory.Ironically the son of Bitability Balemuchsuccess.“We’d spent eight or 10 years battlingaway with little bitches, most of them under25kgs, getting knocked about in races,” saidTed.“I was talking to Chicka Scott at Capalabaone day and told him I was looking for a trieddog to buy and that it would be our last onebefore we retire.”Chicka knew of just the dog.It was Lincoln Stanley who was raced byLynne Ivanovic and trained by Shayne Parkerat Coominya.“Back in March last year Lynne was atCapalaba to see Lincoln Stanley race in amaiden,” said Ted. “She was thinking ofbuying the dog and went along to see himrace.”Unfortunately Lynne didn’t get to see thedog race. She suffered a stroke at the trackand was rushed to hospital.Husband Peter arrived soon after with thenews that “Lincoln had won”. He’llcontinue to run him through his grades andeventually head to Albion Park when he feelshe’s ready.“Joy and I get up at 3.45am every morningto walk the dogs, and head to Capalaba acouple of times a week to gallop ... and it’s apleasure to do it,” he said.Good dogs and track records suddenlymake you young again.The (March, 2006) Journal Page 12
