June 11 [<strong>Jennie</strong>]Walked a long time today scenery very pretty roads smooth but its up one hill <strong>and</strong> down another. Stoped fordinner on a nice little stream twelve miles east <strong>of</strong> Larimy pleasant today camped tonight on a Lake threemiles east <strong>of</strong> town Mother had a chill water is splendid <strong>and</strong> plenty <strong>of</strong> it wrote a letterJune 12 [<strong>Kate</strong>]Thursday: Passed through Laramie City this morning. It is a very pretty town on Laramie River. We thenpassed the R. R. <strong>and</strong> the Laramie River <strong>and</strong> proceeded across the Laramie Plains which from where wecamped is a distance <strong>of</strong> twenty miles. We traveled it before dinner arrived on Little Laramie River about 3O’clock <strong>and</strong> will remain here the remainder <strong>of</strong> the day. It rained quite hard before <strong>and</strong> after we camped <strong>and</strong>also hailed. Saw snow mountains where they look as though we are not very distant. Have been in sight <strong>of</strong>them all dayJune 12 [<strong>Jennie</strong>]I am now in Laramy City the prettiest town I have seen in the West camped tonight on the Little LaramyRiver stoped early on account <strong>of</strong> rain did not rain much very cold tonight intend sleeping in our waggons onaccount <strong>of</strong> dampnessJune 13 [<strong>Kate</strong>]Friday: Crossed Little Laramie River this morning <strong>and</strong> continued our journey across the Laramie Plains.Passed over hills <strong>and</strong> through valleys crossed two small streams <strong>and</strong> stopped for dinner on the last onecrossed. From there we traveled but a short distance <strong>and</strong> camped on a small stream. Had plenty <strong>of</strong> wood <strong>and</strong>good grazing Have been in sight <strong>of</strong> snow all day it rained at noon <strong>and</strong> also this evening. Father met a ranchman from Scranton Penna [Pennsylvania]June 13 [<strong>Jennie</strong>]Crossed Little Larimie this morning crossed another nice stream before dinner stoped for dinner in a prettyplace on a nice stream camped tonight on a stream <strong>and</strong> near a ( ) ranch rained tonight Flech <strong>and</strong> Mr. Huntgive us music on the violin <strong>and</strong> .........
