July 16 [<strong>Kate</strong>]Wednesday:Left Raft River <strong>and</strong> traveled nine miles <strong>and</strong> stopped for dinner had splendid grass but very poor water afterdinner traveled nine miles to a small mountain stream where we camped. good water <strong>and</strong> grass crickets verythick.Traveled eighteen milesJuly 16 [<strong>Jennie</strong>]Wednesday. Left Raft River early I walked about three miles this morning passed the city rock also <strong>and</strong> oldstage ..... traveled nine miles <strong>and</strong> stoped for dinner on a small stream grass <strong>and</strong> water poor traveled ninemiles to a mountain stream <strong>and</strong> camped over a stage station grass <strong>and</strong> water good very pretty campgroundJuly 17 [<strong>Kate</strong>]Thursday:Remained in camp all day <strong>and</strong> washed. The men killed two deer <strong>and</strong> this ( ) we made a scaffold <strong>and</strong> jerkeda part <strong>of</strong> ( ) ( ). Crickets are very thick our tent is covered.July 17 [<strong>Jennie</strong>]Thursday Remained in camp all day <strong>and</strong> washed <strong>and</strong> baked the men killed two deers <strong>and</strong> two fawns wemade a scaffold <strong>and</strong> jerked our meat it was splendid we had what I call a good dinner Mrs. Lowry was sicktoday some <strong>of</strong> the others were not feeling sore eyes seems to be the prevailing diseaseJuly 18 [<strong>Kate</strong>]Friday:We left the cricket nest this morning traveled twelve miles. Crossed Goose Creek <strong>and</strong> other smaller streams<strong>and</strong> stopped for dinner by a ranch had but little grass for the stock after dinner traveled eleven miles crossedDry Creek passed several small ranches <strong>and</strong> camped in Buck Horn Canyon. Had good water <strong>and</strong> splendidgrass.Traveled 23 miles
