[Washington Territory] Rode among to ......May 14 [Kate]Wednesday: We left our camping ground pretty early and passed through Huchison where we shiped ourgoods. Huchison is the County seat of Reno County is a very pretty town situated on the bank of Cow Crick.The ( ) seem pleasantly feature about. It is that the sand is drifted in the Streets as deep as ones boots. Wehave crossed Cow Crick twice. Stopped for dinner four and half miles East of Nickerson very good pasturefor stock But water very scarce. after dinner passed through Nickerson a flurishing little town in RenoCounty. We camped half mile West of Sterling in a very pretty place. The wind has been blowing quite hardall day and the dust flying. Have been North of the R. R.May 14 [Jennie]We crossed Cow Creek in the edge of Huchison this is a nice place and is in Reno County took dinner fourmiles and half east of Nickerson this is also in Reno camped a little ways west of Sterling on the R R ourmules were badly scared at the cars there was some fellows riding around it looks suspishous we are inReno Co tonight
