that was declining due to habitat loss and<br />
hunting, but where protection from hunting has<br />
increased survival in proportion to the former size<br />
of the hunting bag, enabling the population to<br />
enter a phase of increase. Apparently confined to<br />

throughout its range, the population has shown<br />
signs of slowing its expansion in numbers in very<br />
recent years due to declining reproductive success.
