Median AgeMedian age has continued to increase for all eight counties and for the State through theyear 2010. This follows a national trend related to the aging of the “baby boom” segmentof the population. It is worthy to note that the median age for <strong>Pitt</strong> <strong>County</strong> will remainsignificantly below that of most of the counties within the region and the State, againreflecting the influence of East Carolina University.<strong>Plan</strong>ning ImplicationThe median population age will likely continue to increase in line with other counties in theState over the next twenty years.
