xxAcknowledgmentscar conversions for the past three years. I have always supported him and believed he wasdoing great things. Now, he has so many cars to convert he has a waiting list. That is so greatfor him and a great sign for the conversion industry.Credit must also be extended to the many other electric vehicle enthusiasts who madethis book possible, such as Lee Hart, one of the experts of the electric vehicle industry. I alsowant to thank, Lynne Mason from electric-cars-are-for-girls.com for showing some greatorganization of an electric vehicle conversion on her site. Some of the pictures we approvedby the original sources of the image, but I got the idea to get that image of add a companyfrom her website. Also, thank s go to Tom Gage from AC Propulsion, Rick Woodbury fromCommuter Cars Corporation, Ian from the Zero Emission Vehicles Australia, and Chris Isles. He was one of the clean commuters in Chappaqua and this past year, Chris and I connectedagain. He said he wished the program was back. I just hope this book helps create moreprograms and electric vehicles are used more regularly.I also want to thank Bob Brant for writing this masterpiece, as well as his wife, BonnieBrant.I want to thank Judy Bass from McGraw-Hill. She is such a sweet loving person whobelieved in me. I have always believed that people come into your life for a reason. Herreason was to bless me with the opportunity to update this book and give this industry thejolt it needs. She believed in my willingness to change the book for mass appeal while keepingthe technical approach that Bob Brant used and everyone appreciates.I also need to thank the best copywriter and editor that I could have ever been blessedwith, Patty Wallenburg. She has been so supportive of the book and also so great with herentire team of copy editors and proofreaders. Their job is to make the book great and shereally did that!At the time when Judy approached me to do this book, Art Buchwald, a great politicalsyndicate columnist for the Washington Post and a relative of mine, had passed away. He wasa great inspiration to me. In addition, he wrote a letter of reference for me that helped me toget an internship between my undergraduate and graduate school years for Senator DanielPatrick Moynihan, former U.S. Senator for New York. Art also autographed his book, I’llAlways Have Paris, for me. He wrote, “Dear Seth, You deserve this book because of anyBuchwald, you are the only one who should go to Paris.” I will never forget him and he wasa special person in my life. When Judy Bass asked me to rewrite this book, I told her I wasgrateful because I could now work to continue the Buchwald tradition.I dedicate this book to my beautiful wife, Jessica, and my beautiful sons, Tyler andCameron. While sometimes things have been difficult for a person starting a company afterthe realities of living the Northeast version of the movie Who Killed the Electric Car?, Jessicaalways supported me, loved me, wished for my happiness and was a rock during the toughtimes. My sons Tyler and Cameron are two great boys who only inspire me with theirhappiness, love, and intellect. As I see them grow up in the world we live in today, I am gladthat this book can help to do its part for their future.
