What You ShouldKnow AboutSTC Connectors1. The STC connection isnot recommended foruse in swivel applications.Rotation should belimited to assembly anddisassembly when zeropressure is present.2. The o-ring sealdetermines thetemperature range andfluid compatibility of theSTC connection exceptwhen exceeding therelease sleeve operatingtemperature of 300˚F.3. Disconnection of theSTC connection shouldbe limited to situationswhere there is nopressure present.4. Installation of the maleSTC connector mustbe made straight intothe adapter and not atan angle. Misalignmentduring the connectionresults in a higherconnect force.5. If the release sleeveis damaged during theconnection or disconnectionof the STCconnection, the maleportion must be replaced– premature failure ofthe STC connection mayresult if the replacementis not made.6. Do not use the rubbersleeve as leverage topush the male half intothe female half of the STCconnection.7. Applications that involvevibration should beanalyzed with the aid ofEaton prior to utilization.8. After the STC connectionis made, pull on theconnection to make surethe male STC connector isproperly inserted into thefemale STC connector.9. The use of clamps ishighly recommended forlong hose assemblies thatutilize STC connections;the clamp should bepositioned closeto the STC connection toprevent its rotation.10.STC connection shouldnot be used as a quickdisconnect coupling.11. Do not hold sleeve duringassembly.For your own safety, do not hold the release sleeve during assembly.WARNING:Do NOT disconnect STC connection when under pressure.
