How to UseSTC ConnectorsSTC AssemblyActionThe male connector isinserted into the femaleconnector. The male shoulderspreads the latch ring open. When the latch ring is in itsopen position, the maleshoulder can slide past thelatch ring.Note:Always remember to verify that your STC connection has been madesuccessfully by pulling on the connection. The male and female arelocked into place. As fluidpressure is applied, the latchring is wedged betweenthe male shoulder and thefemale angle.STC DisassemblyActionAs the STC tool is insertedbehind the release sleeve, the steel insert pushes thelatching ring forward into agroove in the female halfI.D., allowing the twohalves to be pulled apart. The thickness of the toolmoves the sleeve forwardfar enough to make thedisconnection, so pryingsideways with the tool isunnecessary.Note:Do not use the disconnect tool to pry on theparts. Prying can result in damage. Insert the toolstraight into the connection. The proper connection and disconnection of STCparts is outlined in Bulletin JA535.WARNING:Do NOT disconnect STCconnection when under pressure.Failure to observe the foregoingmay result in property damageor personal injury.EATON HYDRAULICS STC Connectors A-MEFI-MC002-E April 20045
