What’s it like to look after wild animals? Get a taste <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

zookeep<strong>in</strong>g life when you work and talk firsthand with our<br />

zookeepers. Prepare meals <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> commissary, try to outwit<br />

<strong>the</strong> monkeys, and learn <strong>the</strong> details <strong>of</strong> car<strong>in</strong>g for <strong>the</strong>se exotic<br />

creatures. Scheduled activities will vary. Limited group size.<br />

ANIMAL PHOTOGRAPHY $17/SESSION<br />

Jo<strong>in</strong> us for an even<strong>in</strong>g stroll at <strong>the</strong> Valley Zoo and be guided<br />

to some special photographic opportunities. Enjoy <strong>the</strong><br />

even<strong>in</strong>g light, and an opportunity to see <strong>the</strong> Valley Zoo<br />

residents <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> cooler even<strong>in</strong>g wea<strong>the</strong>r. All photographic<br />

skill levels are welcome. Please note that this is not a<br />

photography <strong>in</strong>struction course, but ra<strong>the</strong>r a guided walk<br />

which <strong>of</strong>fers photographic opportunities.<br />

FINE FEATHERED FRIENDS (Ages 3-5) $23<br />

Have a bird-tastic time at <strong>the</strong> Zoo with our fea<strong>the</strong>red residents!<br />

We’ll meet chickens, quail and doves, visit <strong>the</strong> birds <strong>of</strong> prey,<br />

and make a treat for our parrots to eat. See and touch fea<strong>the</strong>rs<br />

and eggs, and make a fly<strong>in</strong>g bird craft to take home! Adult<br />

attendance is optional. If an adult is stay<strong>in</strong>g with <strong>the</strong> child,<br />

<strong>the</strong>n unregistered children may not attend with <strong>the</strong> adult.<br />

Payment is required at <strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong> book<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

• <strong>Program</strong>s are two hours <strong>in</strong> length<br />

• Parties are <strong>of</strong>fered year ‘round unless o<strong>the</strong>rwise stated.<br />

• Maximum 20 guests/party (<strong>in</strong>cludes parents and sibl<strong>in</strong>gs)<br />

for “Be a Zookeeper” parties. At least 2 adults must stay<br />

with <strong>the</strong> children.<br />

ANIMAL ALPHABET (Ages 4–6)<br />

Be an alphabet detective. Search for hidden letters that<br />

will lead you to visit a variety <strong>of</strong> animals. Give a treat to<br />

an animal, and have some hands-on encounters with some<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> creatures you meet along <strong>the</strong> way.<br />

ZOO SAFARI (Ages 4–12)<br />

Put on your safari hat – we are head<strong>in</strong>g out on a grand<br />

adventure! Dur<strong>in</strong>g this ‘zoo-maz<strong>in</strong>g’ adventure you will<br />

get close to <strong>the</strong> animals with encounters and enrichments.<br />

Tour <strong>the</strong> Zoo, meet some critters and have a howl<strong>in</strong>’<br />

safari-style birthday.<br />

ZOO CLUE (Ages 7-9)<br />

Solve a mystery at <strong>the</strong> <strong>Edmonton</strong> Valley Zoo. Your program<br />

leader will play <strong>the</strong> part <strong>of</strong> a master Zoo detective as<br />

children are led on a scavenger hunt for clues. Dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

<strong>in</strong>vestigation, <strong>the</strong>y’ll meet and touch a variety <strong>of</strong> animals.<br />

BE A ZOOKEEPER (Ages 7–12)<br />

Zookeepers are always busy! They prepare meals, <strong>in</strong>vent<br />

toys for animals and care for sick and orphaned animals.<br />

You and your party will f<strong>in</strong>d out first hand what it’s like<br />

to be a zookeeper.<br />
