For programs outside <strong>Edmonton</strong>, add $18/hr travel time<br />
per program staff and $0.50/km for mileage to your<br />
program fee.<br />
Note about cancellation: The well-be<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> animals can<br />
be jeopardized if <strong>the</strong> travell<strong>in</strong>g zoo van encounters a road<br />
problem <strong>in</strong> cold temperatures or when driv<strong>in</strong>g conditions<br />
are unsafe. For <strong>the</strong>se reasons <strong>the</strong> <strong>Edmonton</strong> Valley Zoo<br />
reserves <strong>the</strong> right to cancel Zoo outreach programs if<br />
conditions are prohibitive.<br />
Travell<strong>in</strong>g Zoo Fees:<br />

• $197/group for 1.5 hours<br />
(Ask about fees if you are book<strong>in</strong>g two programs at <strong>the</strong><br />

LITTLE CRITTERS (Ages 3–7)<br />
Pets, farm animals and exotic creatures will become your<br />
guests. A “hands-on” visit with each critter will help you<br />
discover where <strong>the</strong>y live, what <strong>the</strong>y eat, and how we care for<br />
<strong>the</strong>m. Touch artifacts and play animal-<strong>the</strong>med games to help<br />
discover some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> unique features <strong>of</strong> animals, and to help<br />
re<strong>in</strong>force concepts about <strong>the</strong> needs <strong>of</strong> liv<strong>in</strong>g th<strong>in</strong>gs.<br />

ADAPTATIONS (Ages 8 & up)<br />
How do animals survive <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> desert or through freez<strong>in</strong>g<br />
w<strong>in</strong>ters? Meet some animals and discover <strong>the</strong>ir amaz<strong>in</strong>g<br />
adaptations. Learn where <strong>the</strong>y live, what <strong>the</strong>y eat, and what<br />
<strong>the</strong>y need to survive. Discover how adaptations can help a<br />
species thrive or become endangered under <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>fluence <strong>of</strong><br />
human activity. We’ll br<strong>in</strong>g along some endangered species<br />
artifacts, and play an endangered species game to learn<br />
about <strong>the</strong> reasons why animals become endangered.<br />

MINI ZOO (All Ages)<br />
Br<strong>in</strong>g one or two animals to your location to meet any <strong>of</strong><br />
your objectives: special event, a specific study on an animal,<br />
group <strong>the</strong>me night, or end <strong>of</strong> season celebration. Call for<br />
<strong>in</strong>formation on <strong>the</strong> k<strong>in</strong>ds <strong>of</strong> animals that are available if<br />
you have an <strong>in</strong>terest <strong>in</strong> a specific animal.<br />
Fee:<br />
• $125 for first hour, $70/hour for each additional hour.<br />
Special Event Book<strong>in</strong>gs<br />
Invite <strong>the</strong> travell<strong>in</strong>g zoo to your community event! Two staff<br />
will br<strong>in</strong>g out 5 – 6 animals* for some hands-on encounters<br />
as participants drop by our booth at <strong>the</strong>ir leisure.<br />
