As with any project, planning is the glue thathelps ensure successful CM program implementation through accurate identification,accounting, control, and audit processes.<strong>Configuration</strong> <strong>Management</strong> Elements<strong>Plan</strong>ningIdentificationStatusAccounting-Development Methodology- Design Statusand Documentation CONFIGURATION - Development Status-<strong>System</strong> Decomposition- Change Status-Unique Identifier MANAGEMENT - Maintenance/Location Status-Version/Revision Identifier-Interface ControlPROCESSControlAudit andReviews- Change Identification -Audits & Reviews <strong>of</strong> Physical- Change Evaluation and Functional Characteristics- <strong>Configuration</strong> Control Board -Assuring Documentation RepresentsProductFigure 1-12.4.1. <strong>Configuration</strong> <strong>Management</strong> Board (CMB)The <strong>DOCS</strong> <strong>Configuration</strong> <strong>Management</strong> Board will be established to: (1) exercisechange control over the <strong>DOCS</strong> baseline and its components; (2) approve <strong>DOCS</strong>requirements and changes thereto; (3) approve Standard Operating Procedures; (4)approve the <strong>DOCS</strong> Project <strong>Plan</strong>; and (5) approve all <strong>System</strong> Change Requestsclassified as Type 1, Work Stoppage. The CMB is responsible for informing the<strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> Energy Headquarters Information <strong>Management</strong> <strong>Configuration</strong>Control Board (HQ IM CCB) <strong>of</strong> any <strong>DOCS</strong> hardware/s<strong>of</strong>tware configurationchanges that impact the current HQ configuration stantdards and/or affect otherorganizations.The CMB will consist <strong>of</strong> two types <strong>of</strong> memberships:• Standing <strong>Configuration</strong> <strong>Management</strong> Board Members.Docsscb5c.doc Page 11 <strong>of</strong> 93 2/23/2007
