If you arenot familiar with Selcall werecommend you read this sectionfirst. What Is Selective Calling?Selective calling (Selcall) is a sequential tonesignalling system which can provide quiettransceiver operation on a normally busy sharedchannel.Your <strong>TX6000</strong>’s receiver has its own uniqueSelcall code. Whenever your receiver hears aSelcall transmission, it compares the incomingcode with its own code. If the two codes match, the radio knows it is being called and sounds analarm to let the operator know. The receiver canbe set to not allow any sound to reach thespeaker unless it receives its own Selcall code.In this way the radio can monitor a busy channelwithout disturbing you, but still let you know ifyou are being called.Your radio also allows you to transmit theseSelcall codes, so that you can call others whoare also using a Selcall system.Disabling the Selcall FeatureIf you have no need for Selcall, or are confusedby its operation, you can completely disable it. Ifat a later date you decide you want to useSelcall, you can easily restore it again. To disable the Selcall feature:1. Turn the <strong>TX6000</strong> OFF at the volume control.2.
