<strong>CCM</strong> Applicant <strong>Handbook</strong>Certified Construction ManagerCMCICERTIFICATION USAGE AND RELEASE POLICIESOpt‐Out PolicyLimited information is provided publicly in the searchable registry of certified CM individualslocated at http://www.cmaanet.org/certified‐construction‐managers‐registry. This information islimited to first and last name, state, country and email address. Anyone certified as a <strong>CCM</strong> whodoes not wish to have his or her information included in the online directory should contact theCMCI Office by letter or email at certification@cmaanet.org. Unless an opt‐out is requested, theCMCI Office is required to respond to requests to verify certification of an individual to includename, current certification level(s), good standing or any current sanctions that may be in placeand expiration date. The <strong>CCM</strong> registry contents are the property of the Board of Governors.The Board of Governors will not sell or rent contact lists of certificants. As part of the applicationand ongoing credential renewal process, the Board of Governors policies provide permission forcertification staff, agents and contractors to contact certified <strong>CCM</strong> individuals by U.S. mail,electronic mail, and facsimile or via other media on matters limited to those that the Board ofGovernors believes may be of significant interest to a <strong>CCM</strong>. To be removed from the <strong>CCM</strong>mailing list, contact the CMCI Office by letter or email at certification@cmaanet.org.Trademarks and CopyrightsThe letter sequence, <strong>CCM</strong>, has been registered by with the United States Patent and TrademarkOffice on December 25, 2007. The notification indicates that the mark “as used by authorizedpersons, certifies that professional construction management services are being rendered bypersons who have demonstrated professional knowledge and competency in the field of programand construction management in accordance with the requirements and standards established bythe certifier.” The trademark is protected under U.S. and international law and any unauthorizeduses of these marks are prohibited. Violators are subject to prosecution under applicable laws. Inorder to use any of these marks or portions of these materials, individuals or organizations mustobtain prior approval in writing from the certification office.Address, Name or Contact Information ChangesCandidates and subsequent <strong>CCM</strong> certified individuals who have a change in their mailingaddress or contact information must notify the certification office in writing (email, fax or mail) toensure that all records, score reports and certificates are sent to the correct address and receivedin a timely manner.
