CCM Applicant HandbookCertified Construction ManagerCMCIWelcome prospective candidates for the Certified Construction Manager Certification!The Construction Managers Certification Institute© (CMCI) has offered its CM certificationprogram for more than 15 years and continually certifies more qualified Construction Managersthan anyone else in the construction industry. Individuals, companies, and owners recognize theCCM certification as a sign of professionalism.Certification programs assess individuals through peer‐developed standards and competenciesand provide a credential that is time limited. Certification exam assessments must beindependent of any specific course or curriculum. Continued competency is required andenhanced through ongoing renewal requirements and along with adherence to a code of ethics.CMCI’s Board of Governors is responsible for oversight to the development and administrationof the Certified Construction Manager certification (CCM ® ) program, and to ensure the credentialmeets high standards of ethical and professional practice for the construction industry thatassures the proficiency and competency of Construction Management professionals.The CCM is accredited through ANSI/ISO 17024, which provides many positive benefits for theCCM certification process: Defensible and reliable examinations Increased value for the CCM credential Increased recognition of the CCM credential globally Increased security and confidentiality for all CCM candidates Increased professional acceptance and marketability of the CCM credential Peer development and review with professional test development guidanceThis handbook describes aspects of the Certified Construction Manager process and assists inpreparation for both the application and exam. It contains:an overview of exam content outline and referencesadmission policies and guidelines for taking the examsteps to becoming CCM and the CCM applicationdefinitions and information about policies governing the exammaintaining the CCM credentialfees and guidance on applying for the CCMThis handbook also describes the procedures for all parts of the certification process.
