edition in English, title with woodcut printer’s device,
woodcut illustrations and diagrams, lacks initial and
final blanks, title with author’s English name in French
in neat early ink, a few other small marginal ink lines
and scribbles, contemporary ink diagrams to A4 verso,
short tear to foot of 2V5 and 3E6, mostly marginal, but
encroaching with 2 or 3 lines of text in both instances,
no loss, a few stains and spots, 19th century half calf
by C.Winstanley of Manchester, upper cover detaching,
lower joint starting, spine with repaired and slight
loss at foot, rubbed, [Bitting p.146-147; Fussell p.13;
Goldsmiths 451; Hunt 202; Kress 353; Poynter 31.1.;

prolific writer for the rising gentry. Includes the duties
of a householder, a soldier, a statesman and justice of
the peace and discussion on gambling and hunting.

few ink stains verso, showing through to recto, browned
and water-stained (plates less so), a few short marginal
tears, modern half calf, [Fusell pp.77-78; Henrey 245],
printed for M. Wotton, at the Three Daggers in Fleet-
Street; and G. Conyers, at the Ring in Little Britain,
[c.1710] § Moxon (Elizabeth) English Housewifery,
exemplified in above Four Hundred Receipts, 6 (?of
more) woodcut plates of table settings, 1 folding, title
torn with loss of a few letters and extensively repaired,
1 plate with marginal tears and extensively repaired,
occasional spotting or light soiling, modern half calf,
Leeds, J. Lister, and sold by J.Swale...and the author at
