UVAS Relief<br />
Camp for<br />
Livestock<br />
The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences<br />
(UVAS), Lahore has sent a delegation of volunteer<br />
students and teachers to set up relief camps for the<br />
people hit by floods and their Livestock.<br />
The arrangements were made by UVAS volunteers in<br />
collaboration with Punjab Livestock Department. The<br />
student's delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Muhammad<br />
Khan, Chairman, Department of Clinical Medicine and<br />
Surgery.<br />
Almost 48 volunteer veterinarians treated sick animals<br />
and performed vaccination of animals. The camps were<br />

Pakistan Army has been working to support the people<br />
affected by floods. UoG students, faculty members and<br />
staff volunteers along with the Army mobilized the<br />
people, especially the business community and<br />
philanthropists of Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot and also<br />
brought funds from overseas Pakistanis.<br />

Punjab including Mianwali, Muzaffargrah, Bhakkar,<br />

The second batch of UVAS volunteer students and<br />
teachers along with veterinary and human medicines<br />
and disposables worth Rs. one million went to floodstricken<br />
areas. Around 50 volunteers from University's<br />
main campus and College of Veterinary, Jhang, were<br />
entrusted the task to treat sick animals and vaccinate<br />
healthy animals. UVAS collected medicines through its<br />
Institute of Pharmaceutical (IPS) from 13<br />
pharmaceutical industries in Lahore.<br />
UoG Undertakes Relief Measures<br />

relief convoy of the University consisting of 17 trucks and<br />
volunteers left for Southern Punjab on September 6,<br />
2010. The University's campaign is still continuing in its<br />

Hussain Siddiqui, President IIUI, Mrs. Parveen Qadir Agha, Vice President IIUI see off a contingent of<br />
