I finished my master’s inEducation last summer and am applying withthe Harris County Sheriff’s Office to becomea Deputy. Nick is growing very quickly andenjoys playing baseball and in the mud onour farm. We are planting banana trees, peartrees (no partridges, please) and plum trees.We are also expanding our governmentsurplus business to include a small fleet ofgenerator sets, portable A/C sets and 5-tontrucks, along with our 2 1 ⁄2-ton trucks, to assistin emergency situations during hurricaneseason. The winters here are considerablygentler than up North. Our utility bill was lessthan $10 a month! We are also building anew super-insulated all-steel house to retainthe A/C during the summer to cut back thecooling bills we anticipate. We just got adump truck and a bulldozer to help ourbuilding project and to help our neighborsbuild as well. We have contract work lastingthrough next year! We first spoke on the lawn infront of Knowles Hall, on the first day ofschool in fall 1985. We still talk on the phonealmost every day, sometimes several times aday. I am married and have two boys, Pierceand Liam (10 and 7). I have worked for thelast five years as a test item writer. I haveenjoyed my visits back to Tilton duringreunion weekends. It is fun just to be in thedorms and hear the sound of the clock toweragain as you walk to breakfast. My brother,Eric Westergren ’86, is doing well and hasbeen back at Tilton with me as well. Best toeveryone!” William DeHaven writes, “Thislast year has been intense with the escalationof my inventing project. I quit my job and amnow working full time to manifest my dreams.It is scary and exhilarating all in the samebreath, and I can’t think of anything I wouldrather be doing. I work for acommercial development company, and myhusband is a professional wrestler on WWE’sSmackdown. We plan to begin constructionon a new home in early 2007 ‘back home’(Oklahoma) to be closer to our families. I’vebeen terrible about keeping in touch with anyof my Tilton friends, but please feel free todrop me a line any time!” Constantin Beierwrites, “I would be glad to join everyone forAlumni Weekend, but for family and jobreasons again no chance to be in Tilton thissummer. My family is Amelie, my wife,Ferdinand, 2 1 ⁄2, and Nicolas 1; work is AonCorp. in Germany. The latter will bring me to theIBA Conference in Chicago from Sept. 15-22.Would be happy to see a Tiltonian in thewindy city packed with lawyers. All the bestfor a splendid reunion -- I will have a drink toyour wealth on June 24 (probably whilewatching a soccer match, as there will be notmuch else to do in Germany from June 9 toJuly 9).
