I loved it so much that I will begoing back some day. I traveled to Tasmania,which is an island <strong>of</strong>f <strong>of</strong> the mainland <strong>of</strong>Australia. (It is still part <strong>of</strong> the country.) Ispent a weekend in Sydney and hiked in theBlue Mountains, which look very similar tothe Grand Canyon. I spent a week on theGreat Barrier Reef in the city <strong>of</strong> Cairns andsaw some beautiful sea life when I went snorkeling.To my fellow classmates, I can’tbelieve we are going to be college seniors thisfall, and good luck with everything. I hopeeveryone is happy and doing well. Most recently, he led <strong>Tilton</strong><strong>School</strong> from relative obscurity to conferencedominance. Afterward, he took his expertiseto Denison University <strong>of</strong> Ohio, where he wasan assistant football and lacrosse coach fortwo years. Rocchio will also teach adjunctclasses in both the mathematics departmentand the business school. He attended Meriden<strong>School</strong>s and graduated from Meriden High <strong>School</strong>, where heexcelled in basketball, baseball and football. Upon graduationfrom <strong>Tilton</strong> Junior College, he enrolled in the U.S.Navy during World War II, serving as Athletic Director atnaval bases from coast to coast. After the war, he wasemployed by the U.S. Postal Service in Meriden until hisretirement. Francis was a lover <strong>of</strong> the opera, a voraciousreader and an enthusiastic tennis player. He loved to traveland visited many ports <strong>of</strong> call before becoming enchanted bythe Canary Islands, which he visited yearly.Donald J. Miner ’52, <strong>of</strong> Penacook, NH, died April 30 atthe age <strong>of</strong> 84, after a prolonged illness. Born in Boscawen,NH, the son <strong>of</strong> George and Katherine (Higgins) Miner, helived in the Penacook-Boscawen area most <strong>of</strong> his life. Mr.Miner graduated from Penacook High <strong>School</strong>. He receivedhis bachelor’s degree in English and his master’s degree inEnglish literature from Middlebury College in Vermont. Heserved with the U.S. Navy during and after World War IIand was stationed at the United States Embassy in Turkey.He worked at <strong>Tilton</strong> <strong>School</strong> from 1956-1963 and atConcord High <strong>School</strong> for 25 years.
