As concluded from analysis of SCAG demographic data, the Culver City System has anestimated population of 36,704 people in 2010 and is expected to reach 37,679 by 2035. Asummary of historic and projected population, households, and employment within the CulverCity System (based on SCAG growth rate data) is presented in Table 2-2 and illustrated inFigure 2-3. To ensure consistency between the historical and projected population data requiredfor this plan, projections for 2015 through 2035 were adjusted relative to the 2010 populationbenchmark using the appropriate SCAG percentage growth rates in each category. By 2035, population is expected to increaseby a total of 3 percent, from 36,704 in 2010 to 37,679 in 2035, which is a 0.1 percent growthrate per year. The number of households is expected to grow 7 percent during the same period,which equates to an annual household growth rate of 0.3 percent. Employment is expected togrow 7 percent during the same period, which equates to an annual employment growth rate of0.3 percent. Areas with the highest projected growth increases are also the areas that will seethe largest increase in water use. SCAG’s demographic analysis does not project any plannedresidential developments for future years.
