The national cooperative efforts that are beingfostered could be strengthened to support a holisticapproach to water management in other water bodies,such as rivers and coastal waters, in keeping with theNational Water Resources Policy. The ILBM approach isnot only able to contribute to the socioeconomic developmentof the country towards achieving developednation status; at the same time it also ensures conservationof this unique ecosystem.[ 151 ]
