Simply push Caster Lock lever (Figure 9) downto lock and up to unlock (Figure 10).Caution: It is critically important to lock all fourcasters individually to prevent unintended bedmovement.Steer Wheel (optional) (Figure 11)A bed equipped with this option has a steer wheelactuated by pedals on either side of the bed. Thesteer wheel helps in guiding the bed along a straightline and helps the bed pivot around corners.Warning: To reduce the risk of injury, ensure themattress support platform is horizontal and in thelowest position with the siderails fully raised andlocked when moving the bed with a resident/patientin it. For best maneuverability performance, push thebed from the head end.Warning: Steer wheel must be disengaged touse scale.Caution: To avoid damage to the siderailmechanisms, do not move the bed using thesiderails. Use the push/pull handles integrated to theend panels to move the bed.Steer Wheel Operation (Figure 12)To engage the steer wheel, fully depress theside of the pedal identified with a green labeland represented by the ENGAGE green arrow. Todisengage the steer wheel, fully depress the side ofthe pedal identified with a red label and representedby the DISENGAGE red arrow.To avoid injury to the resident/patient and/or user,do not attempt to move the bed laterally with thesteer mode engaged.
