The Division of the Vice Provost for University Life (VPUL) is<br />

the foremost provider of student support services to the Penn<br />

community . VPUL’s mission supports the three tenets of the<br />

Penn Compact: increased access; integrative knowledge; and<br />

local and global engagement through the following core services:<br />

access, achievement and equity programs; campus resource<br />

centers; civic engagement initiatives; facility and administrative<br />

services; health and wellness programs; and student activities<br />

and VPUL facility and administrative services that reach<br />

housing<br />

The University of Pennsylvania provides both off-campus and<br />

on-campus housing facilities . On-campus graduate housing at<br />

Sansom Place is within walking distance of the School . Units<br />

include single rooms and apartments which are fully furnished<br />

and utilities are included in the monthly rent . More information<br />

the graduate housing guide, with detailed landlord and building<br />

International Student and Scholar Services<br />

Upholding the University of Pennsylvania’s commitment to<br />

University’s international students, faculty and professional staff,<br />

The Graduate Student Center empowers graduate and professional<br />

for cross-disciplinary, cross-cultural exchanges, and language<br />

family Resource center<br />

The Family Resource Center at Penn is a safe, welcoming<br />

environment for all Penn students and their children, as well as<br />

designated caregivers . The Family Center provides a hub for information,<br />

resources, and activities for students with children .<br />

The space includes a children’s play area complete with toys,<br />

books, stuffed animals, etc . Children must be supervised by<br />

parents or caregivers at all times . The Family Center is open<br />

Monday through Friday from 10 a .m . to 3 p .m . during the<br />

learning Resources at Penn<br />

The Weingarten Learning Resources Center houses two central University of Pennsylvania<br />

offices that support student learning — the Office of Learning<br />

Resources and the Office of Student Disabilities Services .<br />

The Office of Learning Resources (OLR) provides professional<br />

instruction in university relevant skills such as academic<br />

reading, writing, and study strategies . You can consult with a<br />

Learning Instructor on the most effective and efficient ways to<br />

study for various courses . Individualized instruction will provide<br />

you with specific suggestions for navigating the challenges<br />

of graduate reading and analysis and guide you developing a<br />

system of time management that will balance your academic,<br />

professional and social commitments .<br />

The Office of Student Disabilities Services (SDS)<br />
