We were rather unfortunatein most events, but the efforts of ourcompetitors must not go unmentioned.Peter Wentt ga ve us our only fir st placeby winning the Under 19 Shot Putt, andAlan Baird gove us a second in theUnder 19 - 880 yards. Also we manogedanother second in the Under 17 - 4 x220 relay.Since we cannot congratulate all theteam for the winning of the carnival, wecan thank them for being triers and fordoing their best. Thanks mu st also begiven to the members of the stoff, especiallyMr . Neil .• SENIOR SWIMMINGAs usual C<strong>au</strong>lfield held its own swimmingtrials shortly before the annualswimming sports and at these trials,some promising form was shown (especiallyin the Under 17 grade) and excep­48tionally good times were recorded.The big day of the sports arrived andfound C<strong>au</strong>lfield with one of the strongestteams ever fielded . The first eventsaw C<strong>au</strong>lfield gain a place, after thatthey consistently won events and if nowin was in sight, second or third places
