and career counseling.Beyond <strong>the</strong> academic requirements, Missouri licensure also requires additional hours ofsupervised counseling under a licensed professional and successful completion of <strong>the</strong> NationalCounselor Examination. <strong>Student</strong>s seeking licensure in o<strong>the</strong>r states should contact authorities inthose states for requirements.‣ Distance Education Studies: All counseling courses (CO300-599) must be taken in St. Louis.<strong>Student</strong>s may apply a maximum of 12 credit units of distance education courses to <strong>the</strong> MAC.MASTER OF ARTS, EXEGETICAL THEOLOGY (MAET)‣ Program Requirements: The MAET degree requires satisfactory completion of 60 semester unitsas outlined in <strong>the</strong> curriculum with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0/4.0. Basic Bible knowledge isa degree prerequisite (see “Bible Content Exam” below). A maximum of 15 units may beaccepted in transfer for <strong>the</strong> MAET.Greek and/or Hebrew are prerequisites for most courses in this program. <strong>Student</strong>s withoutsufficient background in Greek who wish to complete <strong>the</strong> degree in two years must take summerNT301/302 prior to <strong>the</strong>ir first fall semester.<strong>Student</strong>s interested in teaching in a seminary are advised that <strong>the</strong> MDiv and ministry experienceare normally required in addition to an advanced degree. Such students may wish to pursue <strong>the</strong>MDiv in addition to <strong>the</strong> MAET.‣ Residency Requirements: The last 24 units of this degree (excluding <strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong>sis) must normallybe taken in residence at <strong>Covenant</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong>.‣ Nine-Year Time Limit: The time limitation for completion of <strong>the</strong> MAET degree is nine years.Courses taken more than nine years prior to degree completion may be credited toward <strong>the</strong>degree only by faculty approval. Such approval may require re-examination or additional studyand may jeopardize financial aid eligibility.‣ Bible Content Exam: All entering MAET students must take <strong>the</strong> Bible content exam prior toregistration. <strong>Student</strong>s must pass <strong>the</strong> exam no later than one semester prior to graduation.
