8. Field education (for MDiv, MAEM, MARC and MAWM students). MDiv students mustcomplete 300 hours of supervised field education; MAEM, MARC and MAWM students mustcomplete 150 hours.REGALIAAccording to <strong>the</strong> information on <strong>the</strong> student’s graduation application, <strong>the</strong> Registrar’s office will providea cap, gown, and academic hood (if applicable) for each student. The day after graduation, students mustreturn <strong>the</strong>ir cap, gown, and academic hood (if applicable) to One-Stop. Once <strong>the</strong> regalia has beenreturned and all o<strong>the</strong>r requirements have been met (see above), <strong>the</strong> diploma will be awarded.Degree program graduates who would like to purchase an academic hood may contact <strong>the</strong> Registrar’soffice for contact information for an individual who makes academic hoods.COMMENCEMENTGraduating students are expected to attend <strong>the</strong> baccalaureate and commencement exercises. <strong>Covenant</strong><strong>Seminary</strong> provides appropriate academic dress. <strong>Student</strong>s with outstanding financial obligations to <strong>the</strong><strong>Seminary</strong> will not be allowed to participate in commencement exercises.GRADUATION HONORS<strong>Student</strong>s in <strong>the</strong> MATS, MAEM, MAC, MAET, MARC, MAWM and MDiv programs who achieve a3.55 cumulative GPA will graduate cum laude; 3.75, magna cum laude; 3.90, with faculty action, summacum laude. ThM degree candidates will graduate with honors only by special faculty action. Honorsappear on <strong>the</strong> student’s diploma and transcript.Each year at commencement <strong>the</strong> faculty recognizes special achievements of graduating students with <strong>the</strong>following awards:• The Robert G. Rayburn Homiletics Award is given to <strong>the</strong> graduating senior who best represents<strong>Covenant</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong>’s tradition of excellence in preaching.• The J. Oliver Buswell Theology Prize of a significant evangelical publication furnished by BakerBook House is given to <strong>the</strong> graduating senior deemed worthy of special recognition for work inhistorical or systematic <strong>the</strong>ology.• The R. Laird Harris Award in Exegesis is given to <strong>the</strong> graduating student deemed worthy ofspecial recognition for work in biblical exegesis.[49]
