2.6.3 Out of Range AlarmThe Out Of Range Alarm is intended to notify the driverwhen the refrigerated compartment temperature hasmoved away from set point or when the unit is operatingat low cooling capacity, and the compartment temperatureis not pulling down toward set point. The Out OfRange Alarm may be configured as an Alarm Only, or asan Alarm and Unit Shutdown. (Refer to Section 6.2 ConfigurationMode). If the unit shuts down due to a shutdown alarm, the OutOf Range Alarm will come on when the refrigeratedcompartment temperature has been out of range for 30to 45 minutes regardless if the refrigerated compartmenttemperature was ever within set point range or not.Generally, when the unit is running, the refrigeratedcompartment temperature must have first been InRange before the Out of Range Alarm can be triggered. In Range is defined as the temperature of therefrigerated compartment having been within ± 2.7°F(1.5°C) of set point in the Perishable Range, or within +2.7°F (1.5°C) of set point in the Frozen Range. The point at which the actual Out of Range Alarm comeson is determined by the Out of Range Functional Parametersetting. Selections of 4°F (2°C), 5.5°F (3°C),7°F(4°C), and OFF are available. The OFF setting disablesthe Out of Range Alarm. All other settings allowthe user to determine how far away from set point the refrigeratedcompartment temperature will move beforeturning on the Alarm. The alarm will be activated after 30minutes if the unit is still more than the number of degreesselected in the Functional Parameter list awayfrom set point if the alarm is configured for Alarm Only. The alarm will be activated and the unit will shutdownafter 45 minutes if the alarm is configured for Alarm andShutdown. In Sleep Mode, Pretrip, Component Test Mode, or if theunit has a Door Switch or Remote Switch configured asa Door Switch, and the door has been opened, the Outof Range Alarm is disabled and will not come on. Afterexiting any of these modes, or closing the refrigeratedcompartment door, the refrigerated compartment temperaturemust again come In Range of the set point beforethe Out of Range Alarm can be activated. The internal timer is inactive in Defrost or in a Start--StopOff Cycle. Once the unit leaves these modes, and goesinto a temperature control mode (HEAT, COOL, orPULSED NULL), the Out of Range internal timer notstart until the temperature is out of range of set point.Once the compartment temperature is out of range, thetimer will start, allowing the unit time to bring the refrigeratedcompartment temperature into range before theOut of Range Alarm can be activated. If the unit is not heating or cooling correctly, the Out ofRange alarm may come on when:S The unit is in cool and in pulldown mode (RAT is stillfar away from set point) and if the Delta--T (SATminus RAT) is not at least --1.0°F (0.56°C) for 30minutes ORSThe unit is in pullup mode (RAT is still far away fromset point) and the unit is operating in heat and theSAT is the same temperature or colder than RAT.62-106832--24
